Quest’espressione non deve indurre in errore gli amici blogghisti “calorosi”, che nei mesi estivi cercano di... prendere ombra per ripararsi dalla calura. La locuzione non ha nulla che fare con il...sole e con il caldo torrido. Che cosa sta a significare, allora? Gli amanti dei cavalli dovrebbero saperlo in quanto la locuzione è tratta dalla “vita equina”. Il modo di dire significa, dunque, “offendersi”, “risentirsi”, “impermalirsi” e simili. E i cavalli? È presto detto. Originariamente la locuzione era riferita ai cavalli quando si innervosiscono o si imbizzarriscono perché spaventati da... un’ombra. Con il trascorrere del tempo il modo di dire - forse poco adoperato - è stato trasportato nel “campo umano” con il significato, appunto, di “persona permalosa”: con Pietro non si può ragionare, prende sempre ombra. I termini “ombroso” e “adombrarsi” non si riallacciano, infatti, a quella particolare paura dei cavalli?

Amovibile e inamovibile

Si presti attenzione a questi due aggettivi, perché molte persone credono che siano l’uno sinonimo dell’altro e li adoperano, sbagliando, indifferentemente. Hanno significati completamente opposti. Il primo, amovibile, non è formato - come molti credono - con “alfa privativo” greco, viene dal latino “amovère” e significa che “può essere rimosso”, che “si può spostare”; il secondo, inamovibile, è composto con il prefisso “in-” e ‘amovibile” e vale che “non si può spostare”, che “non si può rimuovere”. Il prefisso “in-” anteposto a un nome o a un aggettivo conferisce a questi un significato contrario. Si clicchi su amovibile e inamovibile
